Variety and Unity

The following are just a few verses of Scripture about the topic of variety and unity. These verses were written to a specific group of people and were addressing a church family. They can be applied to todays church family, work groups, friendships and the family unit.

3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. Romans 12:3-7

4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. I Corinthians 12:4-7, 12, 14

1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:1-4

2 I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to agree with each other in the Lord. 3 Yes, and I ask you, loyal yokefellow, help these women who have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. Philippians 4:2-3
