My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly . So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!"
This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck."
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.
Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks takeover their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so... "Love the people who treat you right and pray for the ones who don't."

My our lives be an Air Freshener not a Garbage Truck.
I can tell you I have been a Garbage Truck way too often in my life. I desire to be an Air Freshener. I want to be pleasant to others and to God. The sense of smell that you and I have is a very powerful sense. It can turn you on or turn you off. It can lead to, "What is that XXXXX smell?", or, "That smells great." In the bible Paul writes, "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him." II Corinthians 2:14 My guess is God smells good. The smell of flowers, roses, a fresh rain, the ocean breeze, etc. So, I want to smell good. Not because I have put on some deodorant or cologne, but because my life, words, character and smile is a fragrance that leads people to say, "That smells good.", and because of Christ in me they are blessed and encouraged.
